Women of Age Documentary DVD

As she ages, portrait artist Alice Matzkin becomes increasingly disturbed by the signs of aging she is experiencing. Using paint and canvas to work through her fears and curiosity about growing old, she embarks upon a quest to find women elders who can help her come to peace with the later years of life.
Alice discovers twenty-one vibrant, creative and generous women from many walks of life, including 103 year old potter, Beatrice Wood, and pioneer feminist, Betty Friedan.
She paints, interviews and asks them how they have found meaning in their later years. Their portraits and inspiring portions of the interviews are featured.
Now, fifteen years later, Alice looks back and reflects on the interviews and the changes and understanding those intervening years have brought.
